NDSU College of Pharmacy, Nursing, and Allied Sciences

 

The NDSU College of Pharmacy, Nursing, and Allied Sciences advances health care through research and scholarship and prepares students to become competent, caring, ethical, professionals and citizens, committed to lifelong learning.

It’s About People

  • Increase faculty and staff salaries to a level competitive within the academic marketplace
  • address any faculty and staff salary equity and/or compression issues (both internal and academic market) to help our efforts in the recruitment and retention of quality people

    faculty salaries (based on NDSU salary study data for 2003-04, salaries in the College were 94.3 % of the average market salary compared to 95.8 % for 2002-03; based on 2003-04 salary comparisons with 14 peer institutions revealed the following average faculty salary residuals (a positive residual means above the average salary for peer institutions and a negative residual means below the average salary for peer institutions) for NDSU College of Pharmacy, Nursing, and Allied Sciences faculty: Overall College was +$4,304 (26 of 33 faculty salaries had positive residuals, 7 were negative); Nursing was +$3,530 (7 of 11 faculty salaries had positive residuals, 4 were negative); Pharmacy Practice was +$4,362 (12 of 14 faculty salaries had positive residuals, 2 were negative); Pharmaceutical Sciences was +$5,807 (7 of 8 faculty salaries had positive residuals, 1 was negative); residual range was (-$10,114 to +$13,864); 17 of 33 faculty (51.5%) had a salary residual greater than +$5,000 compared to peer institutions.

  • by January 1, 2006: complete ACPE Self-Study and preparation for ACPE Evaluation Team visit for reaccreditation of the pharmacy professional program
  • acquire CCNE accreditation of the undergraduate nursing program through an application (by Fall 2005) and obtaining full accreditation (by Spring 2006)
  • increase interdisciplinary approaches to training students in the nursing and pharmacy professional programs
  • develop an interdisciplinary training program in pharmaceutical biotechnology
  • continue to support expanded hours for the Sudro Library
  • through annual assessment efforts, implement a continuous quality review of the curriculum via curriculum mapping approaches and other methods
  • expand experiential program rotations, preceptors, and sites sufficient to accommodate current and future enrollment including expanding student global experiences through international rotations
  • continue to expand partnerships within the region at affiliated teaching institutions for co-funded faculty positions
  • by Fall 2005, implement the new Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree program and admit initial class
  • expand the innovative instruction of the Concept Pharmacy including offering programs and services to pharmacy technicians (NDSCS), practicing pharmacists, pharmacies and telepharmacy sites
  • increase on-line curricular course offerings and web-based CE programs
  • expand services offered by the North Dakota Institute for Pharmaceutical Care to include medication management training of pharmacists for the new Medicare Rx drug benefit
  • work with state officials to develop a emergency preparedness plan for North Dakota
