The College of Pharmacy, Nursing, and Allied Sciences has been a center of excellence at North Dakota State University (NDSU) for more than 100 years. It has a national reputation for training and supplying high quality pharmacists and nurses for the state, region, and nation. NDSU was one of the first pharmacy schools in the nation to convert its curriculum to an all Pharm.D. program. Its current doctor of pharmacy program has been accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education since 1993. NDSU has a very innovative curriculum to offer its students which provides graduates with a competitive edge in the job marketplace. Through its contemporary facilities and highly motivated and creative faculty, students are exposed to the latest advances in pharmacy and nursing practice and technology. The College offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in both pharmacy and nursing. Degrees offered by the College include: (a.) six year entry level doctor of pharmacy (Pharm.D.); (b.) two year post-baccalaureate Pharm.D.; (c.) BS, MS, and Ph.D. degrees in pharmaceutical sciences; and (d.) BS, MS, and doctor of nursing practice (DNP) degrees in nursing. In addition, the College also has preprofessional programs in allied science including respiratory care, clinical laboratory sciences, and radiological sciences. The College has a total student enrollment of more than 1,500 students in preprofessional, professional, and graduate programs in pharmacy, nursing and allied science. The College annually admits 80-85 students in its pharmacy professional program and 60 students in its nursing professional program. The College currently supports a graduate student enrollment of approximately 50 students (30 in pharmaceutical sciences and 20 in nursing). The College has a highly competitive research program in pharmaceutical sciences which attracts significant funding from NIH and other sources. NDSU has been rated nationally as a program of exceptional quality and one of the best values in the country in comparison to the costs and quality of other Universities. |
